After the 2017 season, Bridgewater became a free agent.
e temporarily played for the New York Jets in 2018 before signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2019.
He started off as the Saints’ backup quarterback before taking Drew Brees’ place as the team’s starter.
Following his tenure with the Saints, he went on to start for a season each with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, signed as a backup with the Miami Dolphins in 2022, and then joined the Detroit Lions in 2023.
