Paul Burrell Children: Meet Alexander and Nicholas

Paul Burrell RVM is a former British Royal Household servant and Princess Diana’s butler.

Burrell was raised in the coal mining town of Grassmoor, Derbyshire. His parents were Graham and Beryl Burrell.

Because his father drove a lorry, he was initially anticipated to work at the neighboring colliery, but at the age of eight, he decided that he wanted to work at Buckingham Palace.

After visiting London and witnessing the Changing of the Guard, this occurred.

He attended William Rhodes Secondary School in Chesterfield before applying to High Peak College in Buxton to study hotel management.

Burrell joined the Royal Service as a footman at Buckingham Palace when he was 18 years old. He was hired as the Queen’s personal footman a year later. He was given the nickname “Small Paul” to distinguish him from Paul Whybrew, a bigger footman known as “Tall Paul.”

Burrell was married to Maria Cosgrove, a former employee of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. After they met while working at Buckingham Palace, they had two boys.

In 2017, a divorced Burrell announced that he was wed to corporate attorney Graham Cooper, whom he has known for ten years. This incident happened at Bowness-on-Windermere on April 2, 2017.

After selling his floral company as a going concern in July 2019, Burrell retired and moved in with his husband in their 19th-century mock-Tudor house in Peckforton, Cheshire.

Before getting married to Maria Cosgrove in 1984, Burrell and Cosgrove were partners for 32 years.

The couple’s two children were named Alexander and Nicholas.

But in 2016, Burrell told his then-wife that he wanted to get a divorce because he was secretly gay.

In April 2017, the butler later wed Graham Cooper in Bowness-on-Windermere.
