Benjamin Mendy Biography
Mendy began his career at Le Havre, where he made his professional debut in 2012. He quickly established himself as one of the top young defenders in France, and in 2016, he was signed by Monaco. With Monaco, Mendy played a key role in the team’s Ligue 1 title win in the 2016-17 season, and their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
In 2017, Mendy was signed by Manchester City for a then-world-record transfer fee for a defender of £52 million. He quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice left-back and helped City win the Premier League title and the EFL Cup in his first season with the club. Despite some injury setbacks, Mendy has continued to be a vital part of the team’s defence, contributing to Manchester City’s Premier League win in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons.

The Manchester City player was charged with rape charges since 26 August 2021. Today, he has not been found not guilty of raping four women and sexually assaulting another during alcohol-fuelled parties at his mansion.
He still has another case. This is another second trial after the jury was unable to reach verdicts on a charge of raping one woman and attempting to rape another. The second trial will go on 26 June 2023. In a statement, Manchester City revealed that it will not comment until the final and second trials.
